Ok, the Help, I'm a Rock cover is still mostly just a project file, owing to the sheer amount of music I have come up with in the meantime. I do have some desert mirage groove, shimmery hot waves which linger...

song # 0: Help! I'm Iraq
I am working now on the cover of The Mothers of Invention song Help! I'm A Rock.
Being that (I believe) any hope of a substantial audience means some helping out with cues, literal or visual aids, there is an intended moving pictures scenario to go with.
It might go something like this:
EXT - Baghdad, Break of DAY.
WE SEE a panorama of Persian splendor; minarets begin to glow as the sun arises. Mecca-oriented.
WE HEAR the first call to prayer of this day. *Adhan*
We are serene; we yearn for peace. We are called to prayer.
ABRUPT CUT: WE HEAR EXPLOSIONS.
WE SEE what we see on the news, daily.
The shitstorm is raging.
The beat kicks in: Help! I'm Iraq.
(it's ostensibly in 3/4 time; which is not march time...)

RE: "Why are we in Iraq again?" (The confused guy)
(see: the embedded videos, bottom row, 2nd from left)
"Help me out, here - why are we in Iraq again?"
I can answer that fairly succinctly: because it's profitable. The corporate state (which the ostensible 'government' is a front for, a 'beard', a cardboard cut-out put in front of the thing by savvy marketing pros) dictates this, and has been working on this plan (and plans within plans) for a while now.
It was necessary for a certain type of event to occur, in order to enable the unstoppable juggernaut what we got now; to bypass the system of checks and balances built into our constitution. An 'undeniable' emergency. 'Executive branch can now claim emergency powers', type of scenario. "What we need is a Pearl Harbor"; Google that phrase sometime. Nine-Eleven.
NB: there is one building that went down that day that was never hit by any flying object. WTC 7. Now, it's very interesting that this building was where the Dept of Defense and CIA records were kept.
That building went down, very close to an absolute vertical, straight line, in under seven seconds.
A demolitions expert will tell you that the state of the art in this industry does approach this kind of perfection, if the money is there to make it happen. (one professor Steven Jones at BYU put together a detailed 13-point study of how this might've been accomplished.)
Plans within plans.

*HELP, I'm A Rock*
It's a drag being a rock. I would like to be anything, but a rock. Heck, I would even like to become a...
Is how it begins. State of becoming? Or, stasis. One looks at patterns in a world history; situations that don't appear to be anything but reruns, or spin-offs. Or remakes, different actors, same roles. One day at my yahoo home page, I saw a list:
Top 10 Battles for the Control of Iraq
Same as it ever was...
Even a cursory look @ this, and ya gotta wonder about a couple of things: have the people making decisions re: Iraq and 'war on terra' read this history? and, more abstractly, is this *history* a kind of long drawn-out screenplay, or game? There is an awful lot of Same as it Ever Was to this business.
Anyway, Help, I'm Iraq. It's a drag being...
